Variable Costs
Category: aviation
Operating costs that increase with each flight hour, such as fuel, landing fees, and engine reserves.
Variable costs are the "mission bills." They include the fuel you burn, the fees you pay for landing at different airports, and the "reserves" you set aside to pay for the eventual engine overhaul. It’s what you pay per hour in the air.
Common Examples
- Our total charter quote includes both the base daily fee and the variable costs associated with the route’s specific fuel and landing fees.
- By optimizing flight paths and choosing cheaper secondary airports, we successfully reduced our variable costs for this private mission.
