Placement

Category: art

The location on the body where the tattoo will be situated.

Placement is everything. A design that looks great on a flat sheet of paper needs to be adapted for the body’s curves. Good placement considers how the design will "flow" and look when the client is moving vs. standing still.

Common Examples

  • We spent time adjusting the placement of the tattoo on the shoulder to ensure the main flower sat perfectly on the deltoid.
  • Placement can significantly impact how much a tattoo hurts, with bony areas typically feeling more intense than muscular ones.
