Color Packing
Category: art
The technique of saturating a skin area with solid, vibrant, or dark color.
Color packing requires slow, deliberate needle strokes and multiple passes to ensure every single skin cell is saturated with pigment. It is physically demanding on the client’s skin and usually reserved for the final stages of a design.
Common Examples
- Packing solid red color into a large rose tattoo requires a deep, steady hand to avoid any patchy spots.
- The artist moved to color packing after the linework and shading were complete, ensuring a bold, vibrant final result.
