Sump Pump System
Category: infrastructure
An infrastructure kit featuring a pit basin and an automated submersible pump to extract pooling water from below a basement floor.
The sump basin acts as a low-point collection well for foundation perimeter lines. When groundwater fills the basin, a mechanical float switch activates the submersible pump, driving the accumulated water up through a check-valve line and out away from the home structure boundary.
Common Examples
- During heavy seasonal rainstorms, the automated sump pump system cycles continuously to prevent basement floor flooding events.
- We installed a battery-backup loop onto the sump pump system to maintain extraction power during a regional utility grid blackout.
