Sterile Area (Airside)

The section of the airport terminal accessible only to ticketed passengers who have cleared security.
The airside zone is restricted by federal law. Once inside, passengers are free to navigate shops, dining, and departure gates without further screening, provided they do not exit back into the landside lobby.
Common Examples
- Once we cleared the checkpoint, we entered the sterile area and enjoyed breakfast near the departure gate.
- Leaving the sterile area to meet someone outside requires you to clear security again upon return.
