Microinverter
Category: infrastructure
A miniature inverter installed on each individual solar panel to convert DC to AC directly at the module layer.
Microinverters eliminate the "weakest link" limitation of string architectures. Because each panel operates independently, a shadow on one module has zero impact on the neighboring units. They yield higher lifecycle energy harvesting, enable panel-level diagnostics, and operate at safer low-voltage AC levels.
Common Examples
- Specifying microinverters for the residential solar project completely mitigated the shading risks from the chimney stack shadow.
- Each microinverter transmits panel-level processing telemetry back to our cloud dashboard via powerline communication lines.
