Fan Splitter

Category: infrastructure

A device that allows multiple cooling fans to be connected to a single motherboard header.

Splitters are the "multi-plug." If you have 6 fans but only 3 slots on the motherboard, a splitter bridges them together. Note: Don’t over-chain them, or you’ll draw too much power and fry the motherboard fan header.

Common Examples

  • We utilized two fan splitters to manage the six intake and exhaust fans within our high-airflow enthusiast case build.
  • Always check the amperage rating of your motherboard fan header before using a splitter to connect multiple high-performance cooling fans.
