Wall Tie (Anchor)

Category: infrastructure

A corrosion-resistant metal fastener used to securely anchor a masonry veneer skin back to the structural backing wall.

Wall ties must accommodate differential movement. For example, hot summer sun expands the outer brick skin while the internal air-conditioned backup frame stands still. Ties bridge the air cavity, locking the walls flat against wind loads while allowing slight vertical flex.

Common Examples

  • The code inspector flagged the installation because the hot-dipped galvanized wall ties lacked the required embedment depth.
  • We specified structural stainless steel wall ties to insulate the building envelope from premature long-term corrosion degradation.
