Liquid Metal Compound
Category: infrastructure
An ultra-high-performance thermal interface material composed of a gallium alloy matrix.
Unlike standard silicone thermal paste, liquid metal offers exceptional thermal conductivity, making it ideal for enthusiast gaming builds and high-end laptop cooling blocks. However, because gallium is highly conductive, an accidental spill during application can instantly short out nearby components.
Common Examples
- We applied a protective conformal coating layer around the CPU die before spreading the liquid metal to insulate the surrounding pads.
- Liquid metal cannot be used with aluminum heatsinks, as the gallium alloy will chemically amalgamate and rapidly dissolve the metal structure.
