Overseeding

Category: lifestyle

The practice of planting grass seed directly into an existing turf lawn without turning over the soil.

Overseeding is used to fill in thin spots, improve turf density, and introduce disease-resistant grass varieties. For optimal results, planners combine overseeding with core aeration or power raking to guarantee the new seeds slide into deep soil channels rather than getting trapped in the thatch layer.

Common Examples

  • We executed a full-coverage overseeding using a turf-grade fescue blend to restore the high-traffic stadium turf sections.
  • Keep the overseeded lawn continuously damp for fourteen days to ensure optimal germination tracking across the new seed beds.
