Head-to-Head Coverage
Category: infrastructure
The practice of positioning sprinkler heads so that the spray radius of one head reaches all the way to the next adjacent head.
Sprinkler heads throw the highest volume of water in the middle of their arc, dropping very little moisture right at the base of the nozzle. Head-to-head coverage compensates for this geometry, ensuring uniform water delivery across the turf grid and eliminating dry brown ring patches.
Common Examples
- The audit revealed poor head-to-head coverage in the center quadrant, which explained the persistent summer brown spots.
- Achieving perfect head-to-head coverage requires calculating nozzle spray radii against standard wind interference drag parameters.
