Undermount Sink Rim

Category: infrastructure

An installation configuration where the sink basin is mounted directly beneath the solid-surface countertop substrate.

Unlike drop-in sinks that rest on top of the counter rim, an undermount model requires the stone fabricator to polish the raw interior cutout edge to a finished sheen. It requires heavy-duty mechanical clips and silicone bonding agents to support the high weight of a water-filled basin.

Common Examples

  • We integrated a dual-basin undermount sink rim package beneath the quartz top, creating a smooth, wipeable counter edge profile.
  • Failure to reinforce the undermount sink rim bracket assembly can cause the heavy cast-iron basin to break free from the stone bottom.
