Cabinet Refacing
Category: infrastructure
A cost-effective remodeling strategy where old cabinet door panels are replaced while keeping the existing structural box shells intact.
Refacing involves stripping the existing cabinet door faces and hinges completely. The visible exterior faces of the old structural boxes are then wrapped in a matching wood veneer or laminate skin, and all-new doors and drawer faces are installed, delivering a new aesthetic look rapidly.
Common Examples
- Opting for a comprehensive cabinet refacing plan updated the kitchen design palette while cutting our material expense profile by half.
- Cabinet refacing is only viable if the underlying cabinet box frames are structurally sound, free of water damage, and structurally plumb.
