The structural pre-positioning of water supply and drain line points prior to mounting cabinet carcasses.

Rough-in dimensions must balance precisely with cabinet layouts. If the hot/cold valves or the main PVC waste exit point are positioned off-center by even two inches, the plumber will be forced to cut out heavy structural portions of the new sink base back panel to connect lines.

• Misaligned rough-in pipe stubs can warp the sink base cabinet wall if forced into position tightly during assembly.
