Jet Blast
Category: aviation
The rapid movement of air produced by the exhaust of jet engines.
Jet blast is extremely dangerous; it can flip cars, knock over ground personnel, or cause structural damage to buildings near the ramp. This is why ground crews use tugs to position jets away from terminals before starting engines.
Common Examples
- The ground team maintained a strict distance to avoid the potential jet blast hazard during the engine startup sequence.
- Safety protocols require that all ground equipment be secured, as jet blast can easily turn debris into dangerous projectiles.
