Fuel Injector

Category: automotive

A nozzle that sprays a precisely measured amount of fuel into the engine cylinders.

Injectors are the "perfume sprayer." They need to spray a fine mist for a perfect explosion. If they get clogged, they "drip" instead of spray, causing poor idle and low power. Injector cleaning kits are a common solution for rough-running engines.

Common Examples

  • The rough idle and engine misfires were caused by a clogged fuel injector that was dripping instead of properly atomizing the gas.
  • Periodic fuel injector cleaning can prevent carbon buildup and restore the engine’s factory-spec power and fuel economy.
