The process of switching from one flight to another at an intermediate airport during an itinerary.

Connections require re-navigating terminal gates. If the connection is international, you may need to clear customs, reclaim and re-check bags, and transit to a completely different terminal zone.

Common Examples

• Our flight connection was very tight, leaving us only forty minutes to get from gate A10 to gate C5.
• We checked the terminal map during our flight connection to see if we had enough time to find a food vendor.
