FBO (Fixed-Base Operator)

Category: aviation

A commercial business granted the right by an airport to operate and provide aeronautical services to general aviation.

The FBO is the "private terminal." Unlike public airline terminals, an FBO provides luxury lounges, secure tarmac vehicle access, concierge services, refueling, and hangar storage for private aircraft. It is the primary point of contact for private flight crews and passengers.

Common Examples

  • We coordinated with the local FBO to ensure our ground transportation was parked directly at the aircraft door upon landing.
  • High-end FBO facilities offer private conference rooms and gourmet catering services for passengers awaiting their flight departures.
