Contractual Concessions
Category: business
Comped items or discount upgrades negotiated into a venue contract to lower overall event costs.
Concessions represent the high-leverage bargaining chips in contract negotiations. Examples include complimentary Wi-Fi across the convention space, one free room night per fifty booked (1:50 comp ratio), waived staff-to-guest ratios, or deep discounts on in-house AV equipment rental lines.
Common Examples
- Our planner negotiated critical contractual concessions, including a waived corkage fee and free basic internet for all attendees.
- The hotel offered a ten percent discount on food catering as a final concession to lock in our minimum room block commitment.
