Engine Coolant (Antifreeze)

Category: automotive

A fluid that circulates through the engine to absorb heat and prevent freezing or boiling.

Coolant is the "thermal regulator." It carries heat from the engine to the radiator. If you have a leak, the engine will overheat and eventually weld itself together. Never open a hot radiator cap—the pressurized fluid can cause severe burns.

Common Examples

  • The engine overheating issue was traced to a pinhole leak in the coolant hose, leading to a rapid loss of fluid under pressure.
  • We flushed and replaced the engine coolant to prevent internal corrosion and ensure the cooling system operates at peak efficiency.
