Disembarkation

Category: maritime

The process of leaving the ship at the conclusion of a voyage or a specific port stop.

Also referred to as "debarkation," this process involves clearing the ship of all passengers. It is often managed in "waves" based on flight times or luggage tag colors to prevent massive bottlenecks at the terminal exit.

Common Examples

  • Disembarkation procedures begin shortly after the ship docks, with priority groups exiting first to accommodate early afternoon flight schedules.
  • Please ensure all checked luggage is left outside your cabin door by midnight prior to the final morning of disembarkation.
