Dental Sealant

Category: infrastructure

A thin, protective plastic coating applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth to block decay.

Sealants fill in the deep grooves and fissures on the chewing surfaces of molars where toothbrush bristles cannot reach. This effectively "seals off" the areas most prone to childhood cavities, acting as a preventative shield against bacteria.

Common Examples

  • We applied dental sealants to the six-year molars to provide a decade of protection against enamel-decaying food particles.
  • Applying dental sealant is a painless, fast, and highly effective way to drastically reduce the risk of occlusal cavity formation in kids.
