Dental Crown

Category: infrastructure

A custom-fitted cover that encases a damaged tooth to restore its original shape, strength, and function.

A crown is necessary for teeth with large fractures, deep decay, or teeth that have recently undergone a root canal. The dentist grinds down the natural tooth structure, takes an impression, and cements a permanent ceramic or porcelain cover over the stump.

Common Examples

  • The molar was structurally compromised following the root canal, requiring a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown restoration for long-term safety.
  • CAD/CAM milling technology allows the office to produce and bond a custom dental crown in a single patient visit cycle.
