DLP (Data Loss Prevention)

Category: infrastructure

A suite of tools designed to ensure sensitive data is not leaked, misused, or lost outside the corporate network.

DLP software scans data packets traversing network endpoints. If it flags unencrypted strings matching proprietary patterns—such as social security numbers, credit cards, or internal product code files—it blocks the transmission and logs a compliance infraction.

Common Examples

  • Our endpoint DLP rules blocked the file transfer when an associate tried to upload a customer database to a public cloud block.
  • Implementing network-wide DLP rules protects our proprietary news analytics embeddings from accidental public source leakage.
