Cruising Altitude
Category: aviation
The height at which an aircraft remains during the middle portion of a flight.
Private jets fly "higher, faster, and farther" than commercial planes. While a commercial jet might stay at 35,000 feet, a private jet often climbs to 45,000+ feet, where the air is thinner, there is less traffic, and the fuel efficiency is significantly improved.
Common Examples
- Reaching our cruising altitude of 47,000 feet allowed the jet to efficiently soar above the turbulent weather systems below.
- The ability to maintain a high cruising altitude is one of the key performance benefits of modern, high-tech private jet aircraft.
