A place for a ship to dock at a port, or a sleeping bed in a cabin.

As a verb, to berth means to moor the ship at a dock. As a noun, it can refer to the ship’s parking spot or an individual bed inside a stateroom. A ship with a "3,000-passenger capacity" is often described as having 3,000 berths.

  • The ship arrived at the port at 6:00 AM and secured its berth at the main terminal pier.
  • Our cabin is configured as a four-berth room, utilizing two fixed lower beds and two pull-down upper bunks.
